Powerful centre-half Godwin Antwi is on loan over the water at Tranmere Rovers until January 2009.
The youngster joined the Reds from Real Zaragoza in August 2005 but has yet to make his senior competitive debut.
He was part of the FA Youth Cup winning team in 2006, establishing himself as a rock at the back alongside Jack Hobbs.
Antwi spent the final two months of the 2006-07 season on loan at League Two side Accrington Stanley, where he played nine games and helped keep them in the football league.
The following year took him to League One side Hartlepool United, a period which brought 27 league appearances and a first professional goal.
Antwi is the first Ghanaian to represent Liverpool. Though he also has a Spanish passport, his allegiance lies with the African nation should an international call come his way.
